Installation "YOU´RE WELCOME", Bayreuth

On the occasion of the Richard Wagner Festival 2023, the German conceptual artist Professor Ottmar Hörl has developed a new sculpture project on the initiative of Bernd Saupe, first Chairman of the Association "Markgräfin Wilhelmine Gesellschaft e.V." The serial Richard Wagner figures friendly spread their arms on the lawn of the Festival Hill in Bayreuth, stretch them out to the audience for an embrace, warmly welcome all people and conquer the hearts of the people. > more

V." ein neues Skulpturenprojekt für Bayreuth entwickelt. Freundlich breiten die seriellen goldenen Richard-Wagner-Figuren auf dem Rasen des Festspielhügels in Bayreuth die Arme aus, strecken sie dem Publikum zur Umarmung entgegen, heißen alle Menschen herzlich willkommen und erobern die Herzen der Menschen. > more

As ambassadors of peace, 111 gold-coloured Guardian Angels are currently adorning the façade of the pilgrimage church of St. Clemens in Telgte. Group exhibition "Die riesige Welt der Zwerge. Zwerge in Kunst und Literatur" ["The Gigantic World of Gnomes. Gnomes in Art and Literature"], Hofheim

Friendly little helpers or narrow-minded allotment garden ornaments? "Opinions differ on the garden gnome," says Dr Inga Remmers, director of the Stadtmuseum Hofheim city museum. The new exhibition from 12 March to 18 June at the Stadtmuseum Hofheim city museum, entitled "Die riesige Welt der Zwerge. Zwerge in Kunst und Literatur" ["The Gigantic World of Gnomes. Gnomes in Art and Literature"], explores how the figure of the gnome became an ironised personification of the German citizen. > more
