Art project "Flashmob", Wertheim

From 19 September 2020, a spontaneous, brief appearance of cheerful, colourful sculptures will be seen in Wertheim/Main, the city where "Flashmob", Ottmar Hörl's new, participatory art project is about to start.

Specifically for this intervention, Hörl has developed the figure of the "optimist" who, holding up his thumb, frankly and without being censored, shares his likes with the rest of the world offline.

Beethoven-Installation im Wertheim Village

Zum 250. Mal jährt sich diesen Dezember der Geburtstag des musikalischen Genies.
Bereits im letzten Jahr wurde die Figur eines lächelnden Beethoven in der Ausstellung seiner Geburtsstadt Bonn ein überwältigender Erfolg. Nun folgt eine Beethoven-Installation im Wertheim Village - in knalligen Pop-Farben. Zu sehen noch bis Mitte September. > more

Installation of Beethoven sculptures in Wertheim Village

The 250th anniversary of this musical genius's birthday will be celebrated in December 2020.
Last year's presentation of the figure of a smiling Beethoven in Bonn, where the composer was born, was a resounding success. A Beethoven installation at Wertheim Village – in strong pop colours – is now on view. Running until mid-September. > more

Exhibition "Time Present" Photography from the Deutsche Bank Collection, PalaisPopulaire, Berlin

Since 1982, Ottmar Hörl has developed photo concepts with a focus on automated picture taking. Cameras were thrown from planes, for instance, were attached to the rims of car tyres, or even shot at to create pictures that capture segments of reality beyond human interference, a reality that is no longer defined as such by the artist's view. > more

Ausstellung "Time Present" Photography from the Deutsche Bank Collection, PalaisPopulaire, Berlin

Seit 1982 entwickelt Ottmar Hörl Fotokonzepte. Der Fokus liegt dabei auf automatisierten Aufnahmeverfahren. So wurden beispielsweise Kameras aus Flugzeugen abgeworfen, auf Radfelgen montiert oder gar beschossen, um Bilder zu schaffen, die jenseits menschlichen Eingriffs Ausschnitte einer Realität festzuhalten, die nicht mehr durch den künstlerischen Blick als solche definiert werden. > more
