Just in time for the Albertina's 250th anniversary, which was celebrated last weekend, Ottmar Hörl's "Das große Hasenstück" takes place on the flying roof above the museum's main entrance.
The sculpture, which is 2.5 metres high and 3.7 metres long and coloured in bright pink, was elevated onto the Soravia Wing by crane on 1 July 2026.
The same prominent location had already hosted an XXL version of the sculpture - which was developed by Ottmar Hörl in 2003 and is inspired by Albrecht Dürer's drawing 'Feldhase' - back in 2014. However, at 2.2 metres long and 1.5 metres high, that version was still significantly smaller than the new edition created to celebrate the anniversary.
