The eighth group of figures of the serial work entitled "Family Get-together" [Family Get-together], which Ottmar Hörl created specifically for Rüsselsheim in 1992, has moved to its dedicated location in Kohlseestraße.
The work of art was handed over there on 26 April 2019. Seven already existing sculpture groups, known as "Hörl Family", have long since become an identification model for the city of Rüsselsheim.
Ottmar Hörl expressed his thanks for having been commissioned with extending his work. "The 'Family Get-together' has found its way into art history," he remarked. "Rüsselsheim is the only German city to call a group of serial figures its own."
However, Hörl pointed out its current relevance: "History is repeating itself," he said, referring to rental prices on the up and up. The fact that a housing company was acting as sponsor here, should make people give some thought to present-day property schemes. "This is also part of my concept," he said.
