Open-arms policy

For a joint exhibition with Urban Hüter entitled “Grüßt‘ Euch!“ [Hi there!] at Kunstforum Rottweil, Ottmar Hörl sets up dozens of astronauts welcoming visitors with an open-arms gesture.

The installation is visualising how we deal with the unfamiliar and with plausible uncertainty in the face of alien life forms and cultures. How do we treat aliens that invade our own area of life where they seem out of place? The majority of Germans believe that aliens exist. Now they're here – what next?

The exhibition "Ottmar Hörl und Urban Hüter" will be on show in Rottweil until 8 November 2015.
