Dear art lovers,

In the meantime, spring has arrived. The days are getting longer, the birds are singing and promising new projects are on the horizon.

Join us for the coming months to start an inspiring new year in art.

CONTINUED EXISTENCE OF THE EURO SCULPTURE

To mark the introduction of the euro in 2001 Ottmar Hörl's 14-meter-high euro sculpture was erected on Willy-Brandt-Platz in Frankfurt am Main. Since then, it has been a popular subject for photographs and has also featured as an illustration in countless national and international press reports on the Euro. Recently, the sculpture's future was in jeopardy as no funding could be secured. In December 2025, the City of Frankfurt and the Frankfurt-based European Central Bank (ECB) agreed to jointly cover these costs in future.

The installation "Penguin – The Exposed Animal" took place 20 years ago as part of the 7th Art and Culture Summer of the KISS Art Association. Ottmar Hörl installed black and white penguin sculptures in Untergröningen Castle, encouraging visitors to reflect on the fundamental existential idea of the struggle for survival and cohesion for the purpose of the species' continued existence.
