This May, a Beethoven travelling exhibition in Russia will stop at Tsaritsyno Park in Moscow. This is its penultimate location on a long journey before the sculptures will be sold at auction on 26/27 June at the Germany Festival (on the occasion of the Year of Germany in Russia, 2020/21) in Moscow's Sokolniki Park in support of the Sound Up festival of new music.
By then, Ottmar Hörl's sculptures will have covered tens of thousands of kilometres since December 2020: they have travelled across Russia, romped around in the Siberian ice, were set up in front of Sevastyanov's House in Jekaterinburg, provided colour accents next to grey monuments, populated St Petersburg, and repeatedly appeared in concerts, television shows, and airports around Beethoven's 250th anniversary.
In addition, some sculptures accompanied influencers on their way, and can be seen on Instagram under the hashtag #DiscoverBeethoven. Air travellers can also upload their impressions of local installations of Beethoven sculptures there. Find out more at: https://www.mskagency.ru/materials/3102291
This extraordinary project was launched by the National Tourist Office of Germany in Russia, with the support of the German Embassy in Moscow, the Goethe Institute, and the airline Utair.
